We are pleased to offer for sale this desirable Jaguar Type E 4.2L Series 2 from 1970.

 

Of American origin, it was imported to Europe by an Englishman from Leeds with a residence in the United States; it was then its last owner who made it take its first turns on French soil.

 

Eager to have a car close to impeccable, body painting, miscellaneous and mechanical work was carried out during 2017 (photo file of the partial restoration available).

 

After in-depth examination of the vehicle and around fifteen kilometers traveled in Parisian traffic, its traffic jams and its cobbled streets, we can attest that it is truly in remarkable condition.

 

Bearing no trace of accident, the oval of its air vent is perfect, as is the alignment of its openings.

 

Its paint in its original color Primerose Yellow does not reveal any defects and is very well stretched.

 

All of its original chrome was redone during the body painting repair, it perfectly matches the shape of the body (note that the new chrome in re-production available today on the market too often joins poorly with the cash register).

 

Its custom-made Black Alpaca hood is superb, its hood cover is new and has never been used, we will also need to fix the clips holding it in place.

 

On the interior side, its seats and backrests are magnificent, without snags or other defects, we believe, given their qualities and conformities, that they are original.

Its sky door sill trims as well as its carpet kit are new.

Its dashboard cap is quite suitable but given the general condition of the car we plan to replace it before delivery to its future owner.

 

Mechanically, its legendary XK double camshaft revs up and sings with the most beautiful sounds.

The cylinder head was revised recently, equipped with an intake ramp with 3 new SU HD8 carburetors, mounted with horns replacing the original air box and its 2 Stromberg carburetors.

It is also equipped with a stainless steel radiator, new electronic ignition and coil and its alternator has been revised.

The Jaguar 4-speed gearbox and clutch work perfectly.

 

Its sleek tower has certainly never been repainted, so it shows some traces of use. Before delivery, we will prepare the engine compartment and its accessories. 

 

The running gear has been revised with replacement of all the silent blocks and steering ball joints.

 

So here is the opportunity for someone looking for a Jaguar E Type to be able to afford one of the cars, if not the most legendary car and in really very good general condition.
