Description

We offer for sale this magnificent Jaguar XK120 type OTS for “Open Two Seater”, delivered new in Los Angeles in 1954.

 

Its heritage certificate specifies that it was originally colored “  Cream” with a red interior. 

 

It underwent a complete restoration which was completed in 2010 with a color change to British Racing Green and a Biscuit leather interior. Its current condition and its large file of invoices and photos of the work testify to the quality of this restoration.

 

More recently, in 2020, several improvements were made to make its use more adapted to today's traffic. 

 

These improvements were made to be reversible.

  • Aluminum radiator with electric fan and thermostat for automatic activation.

  • Front assist disc brakes.

  • Electronic ignition.

  • Power steering.

  • 5-speed gearbox.

 

All original parts accompany the vehicle.

History of the model

The XK120, a living room prototype that became a production model.

The Jaguar and quickly attracted attention with its stylish design and outstanding performance. The popularity of the model encouraged Jaguar to move into production and make it a production vehicle.

 

The XK120 is powered by a 3.4-liter straight-six engine, capable of producing around 160 horsepower, which was impressive for its time. This allowed it to reach a top speed of around 120 mph, making it the fastest production car in the world. 

The 1953, 1955, 1956 and 1957 where the Type-D took 1st place and 2, 3, 4 and 6th places.

 

In total, around 12,000 examples of the XK120 were produced, a large portion of which were exported to the United States. The car's popularity prompted Jaguar to subsequently develop the XK140 and XK150 models.

 

Its timeless design and exceptional performance make it a true icon of automotive history.
